TOC/TNb analysis without limitations

Revolutionary, newly designed analyzer for the determination of organically and inorganically bound carbon in liquids, slurries and solids.

For the first time the ppb-sensitivity for measuring TOC or TNb in aqueous solutions is combined with the accuracy and reliability of the organic elemental analysis to measure automatically up to 100% carbon concentrations in any sample matrix. Oxidation of bound carbon by means of high temperature digestion and catalytic post combustion in a free selectable range of up to 1,200°C.

Measuring modes for TC/TIC, TOC/NPOC, POC and DOC. Formed CO2 is purified through a halogen trap with a subsequent 3-step intensive gas drying system. CO2 detection by a super wide range NDIR-photometer with extraordinary linearity. Free of spectral interferences even against SO2 and an outstanding concentration range from 0 – 60,000ppm C without sample dilution. A newly developed matrix separation system (patent pending) serves for long lasting uninterrupted operation times even for mineral containing samples (e.g. sea water). Determination of bound total nitrogen (TNb) as NO by means of optional electrochemical sensor (EC), infrared- (NDIR) or chemiluminescence detector (CLD) down to ppb level.

Measuring method
High temperature catalytic oxidation up to 1200°C and CO2-measurement with NDIR for TOC, NPOC, TC, TIC, POC (VOC), DOC. TNb determination simultaneously with EC, NDIR or CLD (option).

Large detection range
0 to 60,000 mg/L C with a detection limit of 6 ppb (SD). Variable sample volume between 0.05 and 2 mL allows also multipoint calibration from a single standard solution with auto-dilution-effect. Extraordinary linearity over the entire calibration range.

Modular concept for liquids and solids analysis
Large choice of automatic sample feeders for liquids and solids, alternatively cost-efficient solutions with manual sample change. Quick and easy exchangeable. With possibility to upgrade at any time.

Real matrix separation
The new reactor concept enables real matrix separation and offers maximum protection of the combustion tube. Excellent properties for analyses of saline solutions (e.g. brine) or other complicated sample matrices.

TNb determination    
Choice of different detectors for the simultaneous determination of total bound nitrogen (TNb).
